Rensselaer Semi-Weekly Republican, Volume 39, Number 101, Rensselaer, Jasper County, 27 August 1907 — Mr. Crumpacker’s Labors. [ARTICLE]
Mr. Crumpacker’s Labors.
It might be well for the Republican party to sit up and take notice. The Republican majority in tbi& congressional district is not so large but that it might be overcome. The present incumbent ran behind his party ticket in this connty. The indications are that he will not run so well if he should be renominated. The greater part of his valuable time during the twelve years he has served has- been used in making speeches in favor of cur* tailing the number of congressmen from the South, While there is merit in the motion, the people of this district are about as much interested in it as they are in John Pilotte’s last winter’B hat.. This, with the various junks of pork, the largest pieces going to Hammond and Michigan City, constitute the result of Mr. Crumpacker’s labors for which he receives *7,500 per year.—Fowler Leader.
