Mr. and Mrs. T. S. Renicker and family took dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Jno. Renieker and family, Sunday. A large crowd attended the ice cream social at Independence school house for th e benefit of the Sunday School. Mrs. Josiah Flora, of Delphi, came to visit her parents, Abraham Miller and wife, of this vicinity. Mrs. Miller is nearing her 79th birthday, and is in very poor health, suffering from dropsy. Lonely Valley Myrtle Stallwood visited with Ada Huber last Sunday. Burl Asher returned home Saturday after a two weeks visit with relatives in Owen county. Harry Gulbransen made his usual trip last Sunday. 1 Henry Karch and Henry Hinrich visited in Newland last week. . Berry picking is all the rage now in this neck of the woods. Jim Smith called at the home ofhis intended last week. Miss Marion Willeumier left Friday for Holland where she expects to remain for some time.

Notice is hereby given that the Common Council of the City ot Rensselaer, Indiana, at a regular meeting held on the 12th day of AugusC 1907, passed a resolution for the cons true t ion of a T cement sidewalk in said city upon the following described route, tow it: - - ---- - Commencing on the northerly side of Pine Street in said city at the intersection of Pine Street with Melville Street and running thence west along the north side of Pine Street and in front of Lots 13 and 14, in Block 12, and in front of Lots 13 and 14, in Block 11, in Leopold’s Addition to"said city, to the southwest corner of said Block 11 at the intersection of Pine Street with Milton Street. Notice is therefore hereby given that the Common Council of said city will meet in the Council chamber in the courthouse in Rensselaer, Indiana, on the 9th day of September, at 7:30 o’clock p. m., at which time all persons whose property may be affected by such proposed sidewalk improvement may be heard as to the necessity lor the same.
