Large crowds are going t(T the show Friday. The O. &W. V. R. R The Gifford will run an excursion to Rens selaer next Friday for the big show. They will connect with milk train at McCoysburg. Corn on the rich well tiled farms promises a very large yield. It has at least doubled in size since Aug. Ist. The crop generally will not be ready for frost before Oct. Ist. Thejpickle crop in the northern part of the county is rather disappointing so far, the vines not producing half what they should. Cold nights is thought to be the cause. This is a serious matter for many as the corn crop is almost a failure. Weeds'on many faimshave com pletely taken the onion crop. It was impossible to cultivate ou acount of wet weather. A few tamers have managed to get a crop and will reap a rich reward as they are worth 81.10 per bu. on board the cars.
