Epileptic Home Now Open.

The public has been notified thru Governor Hanly .that the new village for epileptics near New Castle is now ready for occupancy. It is still in an incompleted state, but the last legislature made an appropriation for continuing the work, _ This new institution- is expected to prove of enormous benefit to the public, especially the poor epileptics who have been buffeted about for years and years with very little opportunity of getting relief from their terrible affliction. Dr. W. C. VanNuys, the superintendent of the epileptic hospital, said the first fifty patients - will be taken from the county institutions of the various counties. The law provides that they shall be selected from among the able bodied epileptic men, the purpose being to nick out the men who will be of service on the farm of the institution. He said he believed there were not more than fifty such patients in the county institutions of the state. . Two building have been erected on the epileptic farm, three miles north of Newcastle. One will be occupied as a residence for the employes and for the kitchen and dinning rooms for employes and patients. The other building is a double dormitory containing fifty beds for patients. These buildings were erected with money from the original appropriation made for the purchase of the farm. Tne appropriation of SIOO,OOO made by the last legislature is not yet available for use, and no more building can be done until October.
