Rensselaer Semi-Weekly Republican, Volume 39, Number 98, Rensselaer, Jasper County, 16 August 1907 — Wireless Congratulations. [ARTICLE]
Wireless Congratulations.
Probably the first Marconigram ever received in Rensselaer was the one that reached here Monday, Aug. 12, addressed to Mrs. A. Leopold and offering birthday congratulations, it being her 63rd birthday. Of course, the wireless feature was changed to Western Uriou telegraph before it reached Rensselaer, but it had started on its way from the Atlantic ocean as a Marconi wifeless. It was sent from 195 miles off Sable Island, and was from Mr. and Mrs. Leo Wolf, the latter being the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leopold. They are just returning from a several months’ trip abroad, and will reach their home in Hammond about the middle of this week.
