Sam Luce Gets Big Ditch Contract.

Hebron News: M. , Luce & Gidley were awarded tl e contract last week for the diggitg of a large ditch which will extend over about fourteen miles of tLe Kankakee marsh lands. The starting point of the big ditch will be at Shelby, Indiana, and extend to the state line. The conti act calls fora ditch forty feet wide and the dirt from the same will be used in the building of a dike to prevent the floods that sweep over the lowlands on the north side of the Kankakee river. Luce and Gidley went to Marion, Ohio, the first of the week to place an order for a machine to do the work.
