CONDUCTOR’S FOOT BADLY CRUSHED

O. B. Ingalls, conductor on the Monon local freight, met with a severe accident here Friday afternoon, about 3:30 o’clock. He was having some trouble with a coupling and raised his foot to give the draw-bar a kick when just at that instant the cars gave a little lurch backward and caught his foot between the bumpers. His Toot was very badly crushed, five boaes in all being broken. The railroad company’s resident physician gave him the necessary surgical attention, and at night he was taken in an automobile to his parents home, al Francesville. He will be laid up a long time, but it .is thought the foot will be saved, and without much if any permanent lameness. The five broken bones are three in the arch of the foot and one each in the big and middle toe. The big toe is the worst, it being a compound fracture, and may cause the InHsnf theW "
