Cedar Lake Nay Have Electric Road.
One of the latest projec ts of the Chicago, Lake Shore & South Bend road, which runs thru the northern part of Porter and Lake counties, is the construction of a branch line from Gary southward to Cedar Lake near Crown Point, and the expenditure of a quarter of a million dollars in building a big picnic ground and amusement park on the east side of the lake as a rival to the Monon picnic grounds now owned and conducted by the Monon railroad. The men behind the project are J. B. Hanna, president of the Chicago, Lake Shore & South Bend aad Peter W. Meyn, of Hammond. If this company builds this road, they will thus pro empt an important part of the line of the proposed Indianapolis, Lafayette & Chicago line, which is expected to pass thru Rensselaer,,
