Hammond to Recover Marrying Industry.

Hammond, Ind., July 13. Next November, when E L. Shortridge, county clerk-elect, takes his office, the marriage license industry, which was taken from the Lake superior court in this city to Crown Point on account of the warfare between justices of the peace, will be returned to Hammond, aud the reputation of Crown Point as a Gretna Green will be dealt a severe blow, as eloping couples from Chicago will much prefer this city.
