The Heavy Rains.

Xast night’s heavy and long continued rainfall was lunch the largest of any since the present rain season begun; the rainfall during the night being 1.20 inches. The total of the previous rains since Jnly began was 2.18, which, was all that was needed and more too, without last night’s big soaking. So far this month there has been rain on eight of the 11 days with a total rainfall of 3.38 inches, which is beginning to rival the famous wet Jnly of 1902, whan there was 3.75 int&es the first nine days and 6.47 inches during tne month. That was the year of the still wetter Jane, however, with 14 inches of rain.
