On July 4th a Chicago man named Thorne, said ti be the president of the Montgomery Ward Company wus headed thru Jasper county in a big and very expensive Vauderbilt Racer automobile, and coming in contact with a stump np about Parr, his machine was considerably damaged, and his farther progress on his proposed journey was stopped. He was somewhat braised and battered himaelf and a large blond lady who was traveling with him had her head severely cat They came! on to Rensselaer and from here returned to Chieago. The wrecked anto stayed where it was wrecked until a man came with another machine from the factory at Kokomo, and took it back there for repairs. They reached Billy’s garage Saturday evening, with the big racer towed behind, like a ship in distress. It is said to be capable of an 86 mile an hoar speed, sod to be ol 64 horse power.
