Those Green Bugs.
Those green bugs which have alarmed the farmers of this locality so much this year have been discovered to be a species of the plant aphis or plant Tice. The animals are the most productive known in auimal life. Ten or twelve generations will flourish and fall in ft single day and a single pair can produce a colony of thousands in one day if conditions are favorable to their productions. The reason that the bugs have gained such a headway this year is that the weather has been so cold that their natural enemies, the bug eater, have not flourished.
It is generally hard to create much interest in Summer Sales. But the big weeks sale which began Saturday at Murray’ is attracting unusual attention. The extraordiordinary values that they are offering in clothing seems to be appreciated by the people and many are availing themselves of the great bargains. There were customers waiting Saturday mornin ; for the hour of begining of the sale and all day the big corps ot regular and extra clerks were kept on the jump. O. E. MURRAY CO.
