Only White People Suicided.

Notwithstanding that there was m \rked increase in crime in Indiana during the yehr 1906, suicidal mauia and had fewer victims than ih 1905, or in tact during any year since 1902. The majority of the people who committed suicide in 1906 were white men. hot oner colored man was reported as suicide. The total number of suicides was 185. Of this number 132 were white men and 63 were white women. Ac cording to the figures compiled by Miss Stubbs, the coroners of Indiana were called upon to investigate the death of 1,842 persons. Of this number 70 were homicides, 185 were suicides, 802 were by accident and 785 were deaths from natural causes. Of the homicides 51 victims were white men, 9 white women, 8 were colored men and 2 colored women. Of the deaths by accident 637 were white men, 123 were white women and 32 were colored men. A singular fact iu this connection is that not one colored woman met death by accident duriug the year.
