Two Cent Rate to Be General.
Passenger rates ou all railroads of the United States will be reduced to two cents a mile. The lowering of the price and completion abolition of the old three cent rates will begin July Ist This was the decision reached in Chicago Saturday after a long and heated discussion by the leading railroad presidents of all the western and transcontinental roads. It was not a formal agreement, but is equally binding* for two large roads doing a transcontinental business are said to have served an ultimatum to others that they would pnt the rate into effect immediately.
