SURE TO BE BIG FOURTH

A rousing Fourth of July meeting with ail committees represented was held da Thursday night and it looks like the coming celebration will exeeL held in Rensselaer. Christie Vick, chairman of the industrial parade committee, reported almost every busi ness firm intending to have advertising floats in the parade, and many are now at work on some ingenious scheme to establish their claims for trade. The parade will probably take place at 10 o’clock. The fire show- has been termed “The Burning of the Alhambra Theatre,” and Fire Chief Montgomery has called co his assistance that talented young actor and stage director, Orlan Grant, who has planned, a home talent performance that will last for 45 minutes and will require the services of 60 performers. It will be • the finest comedy ever staged in Rensselaer and will close by an explosion and the burning of the Alhambra theatre, with a run by the fire department. Money is being spent as tho it grew on trees and it is expected to attract as many people here as we had last year. Street stand privileges are in charge of Mose Tuteur and Mayor Ellis and are rapidly being engaged. Good reports continue to come in from persons who Lave heard the Deßaugh 20ih century band play, and who regard it as the best band they ever heard. That Music Chairman Harry Parker made a great hit in securing them there is no doubt, and he was just in time too, for they were being sought by many other cities, in all cases of many times the size of Rensselaer. Some persons who can board and furnish sleeping accomodations for the members of the baud can get to do so by applying to Mr. Parker. The bi. bills are being printed and some automobile drivers have volunteered to do the posting in other towns. Whoop ’em up everybody.
