PECK FIRST BROWN SECOND
Everett Brown returned on Wednesday morning from Hoopeston, Hl., where he and Charley Peck, of Remington, took about everything insight in the shooting tournament held there Tuesday. There were thirty-three entries in shoot and the total number of shots fired by each contestant was 215. The wind blew almost a gale and the weather was very unfavorable for high scores and while both of the Jasper county trap shots failed to equal previous scores they were still a little better than any of their competitors and ended up with only one shot between them, Peck having missed 25 and Brown 26. They carried away about everything in the cash prize line, winning $133.52 between them. Both are entered in the Grand American at Chicago next week, and they will there meet some 450 others who are entered in the same event It would be quite an honor to have the Grand American title come to Jasper county.
