* Dr. Besser was in Chicago Thursday on business. Mr. Geo. Shaul of Wolcott was visiting friends here Thursday. John Hobbs of Reynolds visited., his parents here over night Saturday. Wm. Smalley came home Saturday from Lafayette where he has been in school at Purdue. :• Miss Janie Breeze of Delphi came Tuesday to visit her brother, Supt. F. J— Brceze-and-family: Mrs. James Bilile returned Friday to her home in Logansport, having spent a week with friends here. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Griffith of Chicago came Wednesday .to visit his parents Mr. and Mrs. ’ Caul 'Griffith. Mrs. Markifi and daughter Ethel returned home Tuesday after a weeks visit with her daughter Mrs. Wm. Beal. i The Misses Myrtle Shand and Anna Monahan returned home Tuesday from Danville where they have been attending school. t Mr. Stephen Yeoman of Indianapolis and Miss Marie McEwen of Edinburg, Ind., were married at the bride’s home Wednesday June sth. Miss Ada Peck and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Beal went to Watseka Friday to visit Mr. Beals Mrs. Dick, and see the Barnum and Bailey circus. Mrs Loy Blake arid - two little daughters of Wabash came Tuesday to visit relatives. They will also visit at Millford, Illinois, before returiung home.
Mr. Rev. Crowder and daughter Avis returned home Tuesday. Mrs. Crowder has not entirely recovered from her operation, but is able to be up and about the house. The Misses Millie Gray, Delia Sharkey, Carrie Lewis and Blanch Parks went Tuesday to attend a district convention of the Epworth League held at Francesville. Miss Hazel Lucas and Mr. John McCullough were united in maraiage at the home of the bride, Wednesday evening at 8 o’clock, Rev. Postill of Fowler officiating. Mrs. Roush, daughter Tammie and little son Blanchard left Saturday for a visit with, friends at Ft. Wayne. They expect to visit relatives at Wabash also before returning. Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Balcom and daughter Irene, went to Chicago Tuesday. Mr. Balcom returned Wednesday, but Mrs, Balcom and Irene will visit other places in Illinois before returning home. Revivaljneetings held in the opera house conducted by evangelists Burger, Grimes and May. Soon as the weather is suitable they will move from the opera house and hold their meetings in a tent. Everybody invited to come. The commencement exercises of the Carpenter tp. graduates was held at Fountain Park Thursday afternoon. The following were the graduates: Ida Bartoo, Delia Dickinson, Marguerite Zinser, Maud Talbot, Bertha Brien, Myrtle Alter, Henry Cain, Harold Bartee, Albert Dluzak, Ernest Talbot and William Dexter.
