CITY COUNCIL MONDAY NIGHT.

The city council met Monday night and transacted some business mostly relating to sidewalks and sewers. Robert Michael petitioned for a sidewalk on Rutsen street between Cullen and Van Rensselaer and a part between Van Rensselaer and Front streets. Attorney ordered to prepare resolution and report at next meeting. The same action was taken in the matter of a sidewalk on the west side of Cullen street from the alley by Hemphill’s blacksmith shop to Cornelia street. On motion the marshal was in structed to extend tile on Elza street to South street. The engineer reported plans and specifications for the Cullen and Forest street sewer, which were adopted, and clerk instructed to give notice to contractors that bids will be received on June 10. Same action with reference to College and Vine street sewer. Treasurer Leopold reported the following condition of funds: Electric light $2,581.53 Water 319.90 Road 399.66 Corporation 182.19 Park, 189.75 Cullen and Forest 13.26 Cullen street, north, .12 Other funds same as last report. Several claims were allowed.
