State Encampment G. A. R.

May 22, 23 and 24 are the dates of the eueampmept. Ft Wayne, as a city, her commercial, club'and the various committees will do everything pos-ible to* .make the stay of the veterans there a pleasant one Homes are to be thrown open to them and there will be ample accommodation for all. Arrangements are being made to entertain bet ween 50,000 and 75,000 strangers. The encampment will begin Wednesday May 22nd, with a number of meetings during th’e afternoon, the Council of Administration the Women’s Relief Corps and the Ladies of the G. A. R. assembly in their several quarters (at the Wayne Hotel for the business session, to close up the business of the preceding year. There will be a general reception by the Department Commander E. R Brown and the Department President W. R. C. at 8:00 o’clock in the hotel, to which the public will be welcome The delegates will assemble at Princess Theater, Thursday morning, at 10.00 o’clock for the first session. The Women’s Relief Corps will hold its first session in the First Baptist church, and the Ladies of tne G. A. R. in the Py thian Castle. The great parade will be held Thursday afternoon. It is expected that several thousand veterans, ten companies of the Indiana National Guard, and the Sons of Yet erans and many civic societies will participate in this event. The Soldiers and Sailors Orphans’ Home band and otuer bands will furnish the music "for the parade. There will be a number of campfires by regimental associations, which are arranging to hold reunion? here during the week of the encampment.
