Monticello Herald: The negotiations which have been pending for some time with reference to the location of a rifle range here for the use of the National Guard have been closed, and the State of Indiana will be in pos esston of one of the best ranges in tbe State as soon as the leasts are approved by the War Depai tment at Washington. The ground secured is on Capt. Guthrie’s land south east of town and consists of a strip 900 yards long by 100 feet wide extending to the river, together with the necessary background for tbe target, which is afforded by the bluff across the river and is secured by lease from Milt Beynolds. The leases also include an easement across a portion of Mrs. Kenton’s place on the river. All these are secured by the State for one year with the privilege of three. The range will be open to the use of Company O here, to Company M of Rensselaer, and to such other companies as the Adjutant General may direct hereafter.
