Ma[?]y Deals la Automobiles.
There is something doing about all tne time in automobile circles in Rensselaer. The latest include the procuring of a new . White by Delos Thompson of the vintage of 1907, and towards the purchase price of which he'traded in his last year’s machine of the same make. The new machine has several im provements over the cld one, and especially in moving the gasoline tank to tbe back end, instead of in front, and in a large compartment for baggage. The new machine is also a little smaller than the other one, but is plenty big enough. Delos and Jack had the usual first run luck with this new machiu*, as they were running it down from Chicago, late Sunday afternoon, as a defective casting broke on the steering gear while they were bowling along atgobd speed about two miles south of Lowell. This let the front wheels Rwing crosswise with the road and stopped the auto quicker than “you could say Jack Robinson,”,or ‘d —n it, Jack” eitner, for that maker. And either party might well have been excused for saying something of the Jtmd, for there was nothiag for it but had to hoof it back to Lowell and take the evening train into the city, go to the shop and replace the broken casting, and come back with it ou the night train. As a result of all this trouble, they ar rived here with the auto about two
o’clock the next morning. Other new deals in the automobile line is the sale by Mr. Thompson of the Mitchell rnnabont he bought last fall to Dr. 1. M. Washbarn, who in turn has sold his Premier machine to Billy Timmons the anto garage man.
