Gifford Road at a Stand-Still.

Crown Point Star. The Gifford railroad building seems to be at a standstill this spring, aud perhaps will come no farther north until sold to some corporation having plenty of capital. Mr. pifford has done more ’than ary other one man ever has to com plete and equip 40 miles ot road without assistance, and owe nothing, but ic is. presumed now by those close in touch with him that the road will stand still until be sells or is aided by some outside capital. There is uo doubt the road will eventually be run north so t'O connect with Chicago traffic,* but who will ao it is yet to come to the surface.
