A Farm House Burned.

Tuesday lorenoon the residence on the John Groom farm, three miles northeast of town, a short distance northeast from the Groom bridge, caught fire and was burned to the ground. The supposed cause was a defective fine It was an old house, and formerly much better known to the traveling public than in more recent years, since the straightening of the road at that point left the house we 1 back in the field and out of sight. It b&| longed to John Groom, whose hofiM is in tow„, and was worth he thinks S4OO to 1500, and there was no insurance. It was occup ed by Mr. Steel, who had about $l5O insurance on his goods. The most of these were burned, tho a part were saved.
