The County Commisioners.

The county commissioners finished up thefr work for the April term Tuesday evening. The mo3t generally interesting single act ot the term was the finding the blanket remonstrances from Wheatfield and Keeuei townships sufficient, and the shutting out of saloons in them for two years. Albert Kounovsky was an applicant for a license at DeMotte, but this Keener remonstrance knocked KounovsKy sky-highsky. One man had published notice of intention to apply in Wheatfield township, but alter the remonstrance was successful, he decided not to apply. The contract for the construction of the Stahlbaum gravel road in Kankakee and Wheatfield townships was signed up and approved. W. C. Iliff was appointed superintendent of construction in the Garrison Horton ditch.

In the matter of the Thomas Davi3 ditch, which is a petition to enlarge the Jungles ditch, the commissioners asked lor more time and were ordered to meet April 19th. In the E. L. Williams ditch, in Wheatfield, remonstrances werefiled by Horace Marble, H. W. Marble and M. J. Delehanty. Case set for trial Map 7th. James K. Davis wa appointed superintendent ol construct on of the Moody-Davis ditch. John J, Lawler and others petition fora road in Marion township, to, run north and sonth along the east side of the Gangloff farm, from the Pleasant Ridge road north a mile and a half, to the next east and west road. John R. Wilson, John Hndsonaud Jacob A. Hensler were appointed to view on April 20th. The contract lor removing and bridges, to let the Sternberg dredge thru, is to be let on April 15th.
