WHAT CAUSED THE JOLT.

Tuesday’s Valparaiso Messenger: A terrible explosion occurred at the powder mill at Miller Station at 7 o’clock this morning, which resulted in the death of John Reese, aged 24 years. Reese was wheeling some acid into a mixing hon-e, when 25,000 ponnds of nitroglycerine in the building exploded, blowing the un fortunate man to pieces. The explosion was one of tte strongest that ever took place at Miller Station. Nearly every window light in that town was broken. ] Buildings in this city were shaken and some people feared theie had been an earthquake aDd ran out of ‘ their houses. I Reese was married last Christmas to Mies Meltz, daughter of WiLiam Meltz, of Crocker this county.
