Thinks The Lord Will Look After The Dead Ones.
Crown Point Star: It was the general belief that a franchise would be given the Chicago & Lafayette Electric Railroad thru this place last Monday night, on Jack>on street, but a remonstrance petition signed by Residents along the route, put before the bbard at the knocked it completely out, and the railroad promoters were notified the follow- | ing day. That-move no doubt will cause the company to enter town north of the Panhandle tracks if they come at all, and as the matter is back now where it started there is no way of forming an opinion as to what will be done, or where the line will be located. It cannot come in from any direction without op position, fibm the present outlook, and it is a question as to whether the majority of onr people would want an electric road or not if it came to a show down. It seems that we must trust in Providence and be satisfied.
