Favor Simplified Spelling.

On the ground that they deprecate the hardship and waste entailed upon children by our illogical spelling and the process of its mastery, and because they appreciate the importance of intelligent citixenship, and see how our spelling handicaps foreign-born children in learning our language and in understanding our institutions, the Teachers’ Association of Illinois has pronounced itself unequivocally in favor of the adoption of the simplified spelling board’s recommendations.
