Newspapers Of The Future.

The ground is taken by E. P. Powell in the Christian Register that the newspaper of the future will not be larger in bulk than the present, but smaller, and that its obligations to the public will be felt in a degree that is not now felt, even it imagined. The increase in the price of paper is already cansing some of the metropolitan journals to decrease their size, aud necessity may be the mother of the art of condensation as well as of invention. There is evidently an increasing sense of responsibility on the part of newspapers, and signs are not wanting that Mr. Powell's second prediction will come true. As a rule a readiug public secures about the sort of paper its compo site taste demands.
