DEATH OF MRS. SIMON KENTON.

News has been received here of the death at Burnett, Cal., near Los Angeles, last Sunday, Feb. 3rd of Mrs. Josephine Kenton, wife cf Simon Kenton. No particulars of her death have yet been received, but as no previous notice had been sent of her sickness it is supposed that it must have been quite sudden. Her health however has never been very good since she had a very severe attack of pneumonia here, several years ago, and it was on account of her enfeebled health that they located in California two years ago last October. Mrs. Kenton’s maiden name was Spry and she was born and raised in Ohio, but lived in Jasper county from the time she was 16 years old until their removal to California, as stated. She was about 64 years old. She leaves her husband and two sons and two daughters. The former are Omar, who lives on the old home farm, northwest of town and of Globe, Arizona. The daughters are Mrs. Emma Berray, also of Globe, and Mrs. Alda Parkinson, of Bensselaer, but now passing the winter with her husband at Burnett and of course was by her mother’s side when she passed away. No word has yet been received whether she will be brought back here, or burial be made in California.
