CHALMERS BEATEN AT CHECKERS.
The Chalmers checker team in their second match game with tbe Rensselaer team played at the Armory in Rensselaer on Thursday evening, suffered their second defeat, the final score of 32 games being Rensselaer 18, Chalmers 14. The Rensselaer team Waks composed of J. A. McFarland, W: N. Jordon, M. E. Thomas and Samuel Stevens, and each played two games with each member of the Chalmers team, Composed of John and Joseph Raub, M. Burgettand John SmithMr. McFarland was best for Rensselaer, losing only one game. John Raub was best for ChalmeTS, losing only two. The final score was, Rensselaer Chalmers McFarland, 6 John Raub 5 Jordan 41 Joseph Raub 31 Thomas 4* M. Burgett 3 Stevens 31 Smith 21 18 14 Rensselaer had previously defeated Chalmers in a’so game five man eontest by 261 to 231. John Raub, of Chalmiers, now has high individual score, being 121 Thomas is second with 12, and McFarland third with 11. The Chalmers team returned home dt 10:55 today, and before going incftilged in several unofficial games this morning with Rensselaer players.
