Begin Wreck Investigation,
Tuesday’s Indianapolis Star: The State Railroad Commission will today begin the investigation recently authorized Uy the general assembly for thepurpose of ascertaining the-cause of the recent powder explosion at Saudford, which des troyed a Big Four passenger train and killed or maimed over a score of passengers. Union B. Hunt, president of the commission, and Charles V. McAdamsleft Indianapolis last night for Terre Haute and will be joined there this, morning by Commissioner Wood. The investigation will be conducted in the counoil chamber at Terre Haute, and will be an exhaustive one, both the Big Four officials and the employes directly concerned in the wreck having been summoned tor examination. The commission will be assisted by C. Everingham, an attorney of Terre Haute, who has been at work for. the last three days getting the case in hand and having the witnesses subpenaed. The investigation is expected to require the greater part of two days. At the conclusion of the investigation the commission will return to Indianapolis to resume its investigation into the Baltimore & Ohio wreck at Woodville in November. The date lor beginning the investigation into the cause of the Sig Four wreck at Fowler will not be determined until after the Woodville investigation has been finished.
