“Humane Education” Bill.
Ex-Judge R. W. Mcßride, of Indianapolis, has prepared a bill establishing a system of “humane education’’ in the public schools which will be introduced next week. The bill provides that in each public school not less than one half hour ea. h week shall be devoted to teaching the pupils how to show kindness to dumb animals and birds. One day in each month must be set apart as “humanity day,” when appropriate exercises are to be conducted. The bill says that “no experiment upon any living creature shall be permitted in any public school in the state.”
