Kellogg Was To Take His Trip Thursday.
U. B. Kellogg’s long promised free ride on the covered cars, as the equivalent of the free rides he promised to many others but didn’t .deliver, was to be taken Thursday evening, according to the following from today’s Lafayette Journal; Ulysses B. Kellogg, the Canadian land swindler who who was convicted last month in the circuit court, will be taken to Michigan City tomorrow evening at 5 o’clock. He will serve an indeterminate sentence of from one to fourteen years, which means that he may be paroled after he has served one year. Kellogg has been in the county jail here for six months and has already had a good taste of prison life. His wife has been loyal to him and has furnished him with food ever since he has been in jail here. Kellogg came from Brookston to Lafayette and it is presumed that Mrs. who has a number of relatives at Brookston, will return to that place with her gon to reside.
