Richard Garnett, who died recently, after serving in the British museum in many capacities throughout his long life, was one of the most learned men England has ever had, and had a phenomenal memory. One who had vainly sought for Information concerning a certain subject in libraries on the Continent, met Dr. Garnett and told him his needs. “We have only one book in the museum. touching upon that.
