Fairbanks’ ton Indicted.

* Steubenville, O , Jan. 16.—A toenation was created here by the grand jury returning an iudietment for perjury against F. C. Fairbanks, son of Vice President Fairbanks for perjury in swearing relative to his marriage to Miss Scott, of Pittsburg. The charge is that Fairbanks went to Steubenville and disguised himself as a working man, and said that he was a working man of Adams county, and that Miss Scott waa a resident of the county. On this statement he secured a marriage license and they were married and left town immediately. The prosecutor says that the papers will be served uppn Fairbanks as soon as it can be done. Springfield, 0., Jan. 16.—F. C. Fairbanks said when called on at his home by a representative of the Associated Press: “I took no oath whatever in the probate court at Steubensville. I say this emphatically, as my memory in regard to this is distinct. I answered their questions, but there was no affidavit and no oath administered.’ ’ i
