FRED GILMAN GOBBLED.
Captured At Bloomington, Illinois Yesterday and Hast Now Stand Trial. t j Fred Gilman, wrecker of the Home bank at Goodland, is likely at last|to meet the just punishment for bis crimes. For some time past Bloomington, 111., has been among the places where he was said to have been seen, and the return Of his wile Wednesday from what had evidently been a visit to him at that place, caused Sheriff Stpnei to slip over there aud sure enough he found and arrested him there Friday. He was brought back to Kentland and must now stand trial. The Home, bank closed its doors on June 17th, 1904, almost two months to a day after the McCoy bank clos ed. Investigation of its affairs showed that it was a comparatively worse failure than the McCoy bank and that Gilman had evidently robbed it deliberately, and probably had established it for that very purpose. He left debts of about $2-40,000, and on which dividends ot 13 per cent have been paid, and about three per cent more is all the creditors expect to ever get.
