Strong Temperance Laws Probable.
It is altogether probable that some strong temperance or saloonlimiting and regulating laws will be passed this winter. Already five or six bills have been introduced providing for a SI,OOO license fee, while another bill, introduced by Senator V. T, Mcore, of Patnam county, will cure a pretty bad weakness in the present law, as held by the Supreme court. It is the same bill that he introduced two years ago, defining aud : changing the practice and. proof in remonstrances against th granting of liquor licenses. The bill, in effect, places the burden in cases of remonstrance oa those who are resisting the remonstrance. At present the hurden of proving the genuineness of signatures, etc., rests on the remonstrators. This would be changed, according te Senator Moore.
