Crown Point News: The change in the Sheriffs office occurred Tuesday when Sheriff Daugherty stepped down and handed over his official keys to his sue cessor, Sheriff-elect Carter, who immediately took charge. Mr. Daugherty and family have taken up their residence on North Main street but will eventually leave us, and locate elsewhere. Ex-Sheriff Charles J. Daugherty leaves the Sheriff’s office with a record as a public servant of which he can well feel proud. He has made a capable, efficient, aecoir.odatieg officer, and won a host of friends in both political parties. Crown Point is loath to lose him as a citizen, but wishes him well wherever he may go, His record ot official life is without a single blot.
