Death of Hrs. W. S. Grant.

Mrs. Lavin'. Grant, wife of W. S. of Stott Grant, died at seven o’clock lastj Friday morning, Nov., 9th, at their home west of town, or paralysis, after a short sickness. Her age was 78 years, 8 months and 8 days. She had been a resident of Jasper county since 1849, thus being one of the earliest of our still surviving early settlers. She leaves her aged husband and six children to mourn her death. The latter being four sons and two daughters. Of the sons, Harvey M., lives in town, Roll at the eld home, Will in Texas, and Warren, some place in the west, t ut-his present location not known. The daughters are Mrs. J. W. Nelson, of Rensselaer and Mrs. Jose Hann, of Chicago. The funeral was, held Sunday afternoon at 2 p. m., at the residence.
