Obituar y of Jonathan Pancoast.
Jonathan Pan coast was born at Pancoastburg, Fayette Co., Ohio, Jan. $. 1821. He was the son of Shreve and Polly Meyers Pancoast, and was one of a family of twelve children. He remained with his father on the farm nntil he was twenty-one years old, after which he went to Lebanon, Ohio, to attend school, taking up the vocation ot a teacher later. He was united in marriage to Miss Sarah Ann Yeoman on August 8, 1854. To this union was bom two children, Abner Cicero and Mrs. Lillie Alice Crow of Lafayette Ind. His wife died Nov. 24,1858, leaving him the care of their two small children. He was raised in the faith of the Primitive Baptist church. He never joined any church, but was friendly toward all Christian de nominations, and expressed himself as ready when the Lord called. . He was a kind neighbor and an indulgent father. He leaves two children, five grandchildren, two brothers, Benjamin, of lola, Kansas, and Shreve of Pancoastburg, Ohio, one sister Miss Adaline, of Sterling, Ohio, and a host of friends.
