Farewell With Many Emotions.
Mrs. Ralph W. Marshall was tendered a farewell reception Monday evening at the & A. R. hall in the coart boose, by tbe Ladies of the G. A. R. acid tbe associate members who comprise the local G. A. R. post. There were sixty present in all and- while ft was a most joyons gathering, it was at the tbe same time marked by the most evident feeling of regret because it sigualized the departure of a charter member and constant, faithful and greatly admired sister, it being Mrs. Marshall’s plan to remove with her daughter Florence to Santa Crnz, Gal-,, on Tuesday of □ext week, there to join her husband who has- been there for several months, with tbe intention of making it their permanent home. An elaborate sapper was spread and Mrs. Marshall was presented with a beautiful ruby-set brooch, the presentation being made by Mrs. Julia A. Healey, and Mrs. Marshall responding in a most feeling manner. Many present participated ia the speech making and the evening was, not-with-stonding the general sorrow, a very pleasant one.
