May Cut Out Back Stamps.
If present experiments in some Of the larger cities prove successful the system of stamping the back of letters in the postoffice from which they are to be delivered will be discontinued. It is the opinion of Postmast General Hitchcock that this back stamping of the mail to Show the tme at which it arrives in the office serves no useful end and he is at present conducting experiments in New York and Chicago looking towards the immediate abolishing of the system.
