A RESOLUTION.
By the Contmofl Council of the City of Beasselaer, Indian*. in Memory of John F. McColly, deceased. Whereas, One who was long a member of our body has answered the summons to quit this mortal world Therefore, Be it resolved by the Common Council of the City of Rensselaer. Indiana, that we cease for a time the transaction’of the affairs of said City, to record rhe departure of John F. McColly, whose official service for said City commenced on February 27,1899, when he was appointed as Councilman from the Third Waid. to serve until May, 1900. Ip.. May 1900 he was elected as Councilman for a term of two years and served until May, 1902. In May, 1902 he was again elected for two years and served until May, 1904.—1 n Novaember, 1905 he was again elected as Councilman and began his services on January Ist, 1906 and served until his death on September 8, 1906. His honesty and nobility of character won for him the confidence and osteem of all who knew him. He was a most honest and conscientious official, never shirking from the lull performance of his duty. His houesty and uprightness of character exemplified in both his private and public life have builded for him a monument which will live long in the memory of friends and relatives. To living friends and kindred we tender the sympathy of a common loss. 3 £ Be it further resolved that this resolution be entered of record in the Records of the Common Council as a memorial of our love and respect for one who was so long a conscientious and able member of this body and that a copy hereof be furnished the different papers of Jasper County for publication and a copy be delivered to the family of the deceased. Passed by the Common Council and approved by the Mayor this 10th day of September, 1906.
