The New York Chicago Electric Railroad Scheme.

The Financial World, * published in Chicago, warns the public against being gulled by the proposed New York-Chicago, and the New York, Boston & Chicago Electric lines that are much ex” ploited of late. It declaies that the men who are backing these projects have no money to build the lines if the subscription is not enough, and that the money of investors will be where the sub scribers cannot get hold of it. One of these projects is the same recently mentioned la this paper in connection with a somewhat spectacular beginning of work near LaPorte. Not every start means a finish, in the matter of railroad enterprises, and many times considerabe work is done merely as a means of deceiving possible investors
