Indianapolis, Sept. 4 —Vital statistics for the years 1905. as compiled by Dr. Hurty. secretary of the state board of health, show the general birth rate was i - per thousand population. The death rate is a little less than 14 per ThftKMhffi! That for.last. year being lower thau the year before by a fractiou. The biiths reported numbered 44,114. of which 22.651 were males and 21,333 females. Colored males direre 491 and females 464. Four hundred and twenty-nine mothers have had ten children each —Twohundred and forty have had 11 each, and 281 had 12 each. Onethird of the deaths in the year were children under five years. -One hundred and four fathers and 14 mothers, aged between 60 and 70. had children, bulnto mothers
