COUNTY COUNCIL LEVIES AND APPROPRIATIONS.

The County Council, at their : regnlar annual session ending Wednesday afternoon, fixed the county tax levits for the ensueing tax year at 55 and thirteen twentieths cents on the p LOO, for county purposes, which includes roads and bridges, and 16 cents for court house bonds and interest. This is alarge increase over the rate for the present year, the same having been made unusual ly low because there was a large surplus in the countv treasury leit over from the year before. The general appropriation ordinance for county expenses for tl e year 1906 appropriates a grand tjtal of $70,724.54. The principal items ot which appropriation are as follows: Clork’s office, salary, deputy etc. $1,750 85. Auditor’s salary, deputy etc. $2,817.50. —— Treasurer’s salary, deputy etc. sl/464 Recorder’s office $2,318. Sheriff’s office $1,961,65. Surveyor’s office $2,624.25.
