Counter Jumpers Trim The Paddle Weilders.
The city clerks and the County Institute teachers, had their third annual base ball set-to, Friday afternoon, at the ball park. There was a big crowd present, though to judge from the comparative volume of the hollering, the institute peopleā were out in greater force than the friends of the clerks. It was a good game, for players all out of practice, and resulted in a victory for the clerks, the score being 15 to five, in their favor. Seven innings were played, and the game was umpired by Anson Cox. The following were the players for the clerks: Morgan, catcher, McCarthy pitcher, Healey, Ist base, Woodworth 2nd, Campbell 3ri, Gamble shortstop, Grant left field, Kresler center, Kepner right. For the teachers: Darner catcher, Anderson pitcher, Babcock ,Ist, Boland 2nd, Dean 3rd, Garriott right field, Gerber center McFarland left, Barcells shortstop. In the game two years ago the clerks won, and one year ago the teachers won, and now another victory of the clerks make them the winners of the series.
