Good Wages For Laborers.
Vid? 4 President Charles W. Fairbanks recently’ said: “It is with especial pride that we point to the fact that our labor is better paid than the labor of any other count ry. Our effort has been to maintain a high wage scale, upon the generally accepted theory and belief that well , paid labor means better citizen* I and a better country than we could i possib) yen joy if wages were forced | to a low standaid. A luw wage market is most undesirable. It is not in the interest of either capital or labor, and we shall fail in our duty if we shall open the way to the free admission of oriental cheap labor, which will inevitably result in lower wages to our laborers.”
