Death Of A Former Resident

Wingate T. Downing, who was bornjn Tippecanoe county but was raised in Jasper county, died at Little River, Kansas, on August 10th, at the age ot 65 years and six months. His period of residence here covered the time from his third years until 1884, when he moved to Kansas. He was a member of the 10th Indiana regiment from Sept. 10, 1861 to Sept. 19, 1864, when he was honorably discharged. He was twice married, first to Eliza J. Jones. i« 1870, find who died in 1872, and a second time to Mary J. Barkley in 1873 and who survives him.
