Rensselaer Semi-Weekly Republican, Volume 38, Number 84, Rensselaer, Jasper County, 17 July 1906 — Democrats Nominate Darroch. [ARTICLE]

Democrats Nominate Darroch.

The Democratic Congressiou d convention at Michigan City nomi nated Wm. Darroch, ot Kentland, by acclamation, there being no other name presented. The talk of endorsing the independent Repub lican candidate, Melville Miller, of Lafayette did not come to the surface. It is stated that the LaPorte county delegation squelched that m a private caucus, on account of the fear that it would endanger their county ticket. James F. Gallagher, of Michigan City, was chairman, and George Roby, of the Fowler Review, was secretary. Delegates were scarce and enthusiasm still scarcer. No one attended from Rensselaer, and probably none from Jasper county.
